What are FoxyRing Locations ?
You can define multiple places using Network location or GPS location, where you can define different phone profiles to be applied. Let's take an example: When you are at your work place, you don't want everybody to listen to that Britney Spears ringtone, instead you wish that your phone could use a more serious ringtone, such as Mozart. FoxyRing can do that! You can as well apply the silent or vibrate mode if prefered.
Is it using my battery ?
Of course. I could not find a way to code photovoltaics panels and integrate them in the phone, so it could charge the battery. More seriously, I have done my best to reduce the battery usage, and used with only Network Location, it eats almost no battery, and could be compared to a RSS widget. Otherwise, combined with GPS, it will drain a lot of your battery, so I recommend that you turn off your GPS and enable Network Locations.
Are Network Locations enough accurate ?
It depends. If you live like me far from the city, and with only GPRS, the accuracy will not be very good. But that's not a problem, you can define a radius up to 5000Km (~3100 Miles). If you go to place with better coverage, it works even better. That should not be a problem.
I just entered physically a location but it does nothing, what's wrong ?
Be patient. In order to save battery, your current location is polled in the background every 6 minutes by default. It is following the settings in the preferences that is used to define the Analysis Frequency. Then it tries to locate you for 30 seconds, if it fails, it will try again later.
