Weather & Widgets on demand

We think that all our users don’t necessarily want exactly the same things. Some of them want to know only the weather of the place where they are, others are interested on several places, some are focused on timezones and so on. That’s why we worked on the idea of weather and widgets on demand and we decomposed Beautiful Widgets in features.

For free, you’ll have a basic version of the app in which you’ll be able to pick only the features you want. Thus, by in-app purchases, you’ll be able to compose the Beautiful Widgets which fits you the best.

To keep things simple, we grouped features in packs but if needed you’ll be able to buy them individually as well. And if the free version convinced you, you’ll be able to unlock the whole app once for all.

In-app purchases yes, but for free !

 We worked with our partner Getjar who provides us Getjar Gold, a virtual currency you can use in Beautiful Widgets.

Obtaining Gold is really easy and totally free. All you need is to install with Google Play™ Store new free apps recommended by Getjar. So, it’s a very simple, free and secure way to try out new apps and accumulate virtual currency in the same time.

Plus, Gold earned thanks to Beautiful Widgets can be spent in other apps or games using Getjar. And for those who don’t want to use Getjar Gold, regular Google Play™ Store in-app purchase is also available.

Okay, but I’ve already bought Beautiful Widgets Pro?

We renamed the paid version “Beautiful Widgets Pro” in order to avoid confusion. For the hundreds thousands of users who have already chose the paid version of Beautiful Widgets Pro nothing will change. For us, Beautiful Widgets is and will remain one single product. Both version, paid and free, will progress together. If you are a Beautiful Widgets Pro user or if you bought the whole app by in-app purchases, you’ll continue to get all future Beautiful Widgets improvements.

This update brings new features and improvements. Among those new features, we are proud to announce that you’ll be able to choose another weather provider. You willl have now the option to choose between AccuWeatherand Weather Underground. This way, you’ll be able to use the provider that suits you better.

Lots of users ask us to add an option to get rid of the geolocation. This is now possible to use only the manual location you have entered on your Saved List Location.

Another nice feature we add is Lifestyles on the Forecast Screen. This feature, available when using the AccuWeather service provider, shows you different ratings that can help you to plan outdoor activities (Jogging, barbecue, fishing, etc…).

New widgets are also available on this update. Let’s focus on the Barebone widget (6×1 or 6×2). These ones are designed for tablets. Three forecast icons are coming in addition to the weather icon.

We also add an option for all users who want to join our Beta Channel. When we’ll launch beta period, it will be very simple for you to change your version and test all the new functionnalities we want to add in our Application. A simple way to help us keeping the application on the top.

Welcome

The first time you will start Beautiful Widgets 5.0, you are going to be welcomed, because we love you and we are committed to keep you happy while using the application. After all you are everything to us since we cannot exist without you. At first this screen is just providing hints about how to use Beautiful Widgets, but in the future we are going to use that space to display featured themes, or show our other works.

Weather

We know that Beautiful Widget’s users loves to have information about weather. The New Forecast screen has been designed to fullfill all the requests we are receiving regularly.

As you can see on the screenshots, the Forecast Screen has been totally redesign but not only. You can access the fly menu and you’ll have access to others information like Hours, Moon Phases. In future updates, we’ll plan to add new features, but it’s a surprise!

You can also browse between your different Weather Location and add new ones (using the new Pick location option that allow you to use Google Maps).

From this panel, you can also get in your Widget Configuration or Weather Configuration. Make new adjustement for your widgets has never been so easy.

Configuration

Setting up a widget should be simple, and we have always been thinking that you should configure and watch the results instantly. This is finally the case with a real time preview of your widget.

Built for the future

This upcoming version if not only a total revamp of the original Beautiful Widgets, but it’s like starting a new life. The 5.0 is now a strong base for fast evolutions of Beautiful Widgets, we are going to improve it very aggressively and we have a lot of

surprises coming in the future.

Beautiful Widgets is on sale right now in the Play Store, you can purchase it at a low price and be eligible to the 5.0 update, so hurry before it ends!

One of the new feature that we particulary love is the new way to set your favorite locations on your clocks. As usual, you’ll be able to enter your location manually or use the geolocation, but it will be possible to use the Google map, zoom on your location and just tap the name of the city you want to add in your list.

Also, we add a really cool new feature that will allow you to reorder or delete the location you don’t want to see in your lists, just using one thumb move !

You want more ? Here’s a screenshot of the new Theme Information interface. From this place, you’ll be able to swipe from the different Themes that compose a Set. Of course, you’ll have the opportunity to download, apply your themes to your different clocks and share them using Plume, Facebook, Google+, mail, etc…
